You know the power of music. How that one perfect song can change your whole day or how the perfect soundtrack for a drive can make the journey better than the destination. Here are some of our favorite musicians. Check them out!
Vesta first heard David Berkeley nearly 10 years ago in a small coffee shop on the Upper West Side of NYC. Since then, he’s made five albums, each beautiful in its own right, each a little more grown up than the last. He’s terrific live if you have the opportunity to see him (he now plays venues larger than that tiny coffee shop), and if not, you should certainly pick up one or all of his albums. His most recent album, Some Kind of Cure, was fan/friend-funded, and is just terrific, as is the corresponding book, 140 Goats & a Guitar.
Ok, disclaimer: we’ve known Alan Wilkis since high school. So when we reconnected a couple years ago and found out he was making music, we were supportive in that of-course-we’ve-known-each-other-for-years sort of way. And then we heard what he was working on and were more or less blown away. Alan is a musician, producer, and DJ. And his music is way cooler than we could ever hope to be, but not in an intimidating way. More in a makes-us-smile-to-listen-to-it way. We hope you enjoy it as much as we do.
