Say Goodbye to Fruit Flies
Love your summer fruit but hate those pesky fruit flies?
Make a paper funnel and put it in a narrow glass (champagne glasses work best), making sure the bottom of the funnel doesn’t touch the bottom of the glass. Pour a little apple cider vinegar into the bottom of the glass (without the funnel inside yet), or a mixture of rum and orange juice. Place the funnel inside the glass and tape it around the rim of the glass to hold in place. The fruit flies are attracted to the sweet smell and fly in, and then drown in the liquid.
Don't want to sacrifice your champagne flutes? Pick up a pack of plastic party ones that you can reuse just for this purpose.
