Frostings
Buttercream FrostingIngredients:
- 1 1-lb package of Domino Confectioners Sugar
- ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
- 3-4 tablespoons of whole milk
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla
Food coloring (at your discretion)
Directions:Beat butter in a mixer fitted with a paddle attachment (a hand mixer can also work) until creamy. Add remaining ingredients and mix at a low speed until all ingredients are combined. Beat at a medium speed 1-2 minutes until creamy. If desired, add more milk until frosting is spreading consistency. Makes enough for 24 cupcakes.
Chocolate Buttercream FrostingIngredients:3 sticks of unsalted butter, softened
2 tablespoons milk
9 ounces of semisweet chocolated, melted and cooled to lukewarm (to melt chocolate, either place in a double boiler over simering water on low heat for about 5-10 minutes, stirring occasionally OR put chopped chocolate in a microwave-proof bowl and microwave in 30 second increments, stirring after each time until melted)
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 ¼ cups sifted confectioners sugar
Directions:In a large bowl, on the medium speed of an electric mixer, beat the butter until creamy, about three minutes. Add the milk carefully and beat until smooth. Add the melted chocolate and beat well, about two minutes. Add the vanilla and beat for three minutes. Gradually add the sugar and beat on low speed until creamy and off desired consistency. Makes enough for 24 cupcakes.
